Inching towards mediocrity.

James Bond Goes Green. (Or he would, if he were, you know…real).

I was daydreaming at work the other day (as I’m want to do from time to time) when I started thinking about James Bond. Not in any weird way, mind you (minus the general weirdness of a grown man thinking about James Bond in the middle of the day while, ostensibly, hard at work) (I wasn’t). No, I was thinking about James Bond’s penchant for gadgets, and the environmental part of my mind began to wonder what it would be like if James Bond went green. Would he still have those wonderful gadgets? Or would his desire to leave a smaller carbon footprint on the planet he’s been saving from cat loving super-villains for since the early 1960’s curb his gadgetry excess for good?

The majority of his enemies lairs and schemes run on natural volcano power. So they're good.

Kevin Costner will save us all. (Now with 87% more hyperbole!)

They have tried everything to fix the oil spill. Garbage. Giant containment units. Golf balls. They even (briefly, I hope) considered nuking it.

There was one solution they hadn’t considered, though. Until now.

Solar powered laptops? (Count me in!)

Well, I think this easily falls into the realm of “things I thought already existed because they seemed so ridiculously obvious to me, that why the hell wouldn’t they already exist?”

USA Solar and Digital Communications Technologies LLC has created, apparently, the world’s first solar charger for laptops. That’s right – you can now plug this bad boy into your computer, and simply keep it charged and ready by sitting outside under the sun.

Beats the shit out of the iPad.

Top Five Environmentally Friendly Superheroes. (And one who’s NOT).

After an unfortunate two week-ish hiatus, (I won’t bore you with the details surrounding it) I have returned to you, dear readers – bigger, blacker, and more environmentally aware than ever.

On that note, we awkwardly segue into today’s post – looking at some of the “greener” superheroes out there (environmentally green, not Hulk green) and how their unique and individual powers can be viewed as not only extremely useful in times of meta-human inspired mayhem, but also eco-friendly.

And no, arbitrarily and indiscriminately destroying everything in your path does not equal “environmentally friendly." Sorry, big guy.

Five Weird Ways to Create Energy (Now with 30% more better dressed hamsters!)

Many people might not know this about me, but environmental and energy issues are something of an interest of mine, so that’s what we’ll be discussing today!

For as long as mankind has had power, we seem to be trying to develop new and interesting ideas to create it.

I'm not sure if this counts.
